BTCC extends Aero Tec Laboratories fuel cell contract

Aero Tec Laboratories, world leading high performance safety fuel system supplier, has been chosen by TOCA and the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) as sole supplier and technical partner for a further six years. Through to 2026, all race cars on the BTCC grid will feature a custom ATL lightweight bladder, featuring the latest performance parts.

One of the oldest established motor racing series in the world, the BTCC’s legacy is overshadowed only by Formula One and NASCAR. ATL is proud to supply all of the above putting the BTCC in amongst a prestigious bunch.

A beloved icon of UK motorsport and motorsport culture, the BTCC has continued to thrill fans since its inception in 1958. The series is going from strength to strength, as it makes history with its transition to the use of hybrid power, with the new system due to come into effect in 2022.

The extension to the long standing relationship only solidifies ATL stance in the motorsport arena. This continued relationship dates back to 2010 and both parties look forwards to continuing this long standing relationship.

Giles Dawson, Managing Director at Aero Tec Laboratories, commented: “We are proud to continue to provide the complete “plug and play” fuel system to the BTCC as the championship transitions into the new hybrid era over the next 12 months. We see the BTCC as a flagship contract for ATL, alongside our sole supply to Formula One, WRC, WEC and NASCAR.”

TOCA, the organisation behind the BTCC, has been a long-time supporter of British motorsport businesses. Peter Riches, Technical Director at TOCA, added: ““The BTCC is an important part of UK motorsport and, as such, we like to support British engineering, innovation and manufacturing, ATL is also at the international forefront of fuel system design and production. We are extremely pleased that ATL will continue their relationship with our BTCC teams.”
