Date Added: 13/11/2025

Aero Tec Laboratories (ATL) is proud to announce its nomination for the prestigious 2025 World Motorsport Symposium Don Burgoon Most Innovative New Motorsport Product Award, recognising its groundbreaking Kevlar® EXO™-based 922-C fuel bladder material.

Developed in collaboration with DuPont, the 922-C fuel bladder represents a major step forward in motorsport safety and performance. Compared to previous FIA FT5 materials, the new construction is 20% stronger while 15% lighter, offering exceptional impact resistance, abrasion protection and compatibility with today’s eco and sustainable fuels.

“The 922-C programme embodies ATL’s mission to advance safety without compromising performance,” said Giles Dawson, CEO of ATL. “Kevlar® EXO™ has allowed us to reimagine what’s possible in fuel containment technology. This is the most significant step forward in decades for motorsport safety systems.”

ATL’s 922-C material is already in service across top-tier motorsport, including Formula One and the World Rally Championship, where crash-resistant ATL fuel bladders utilising DuPont™ Kevlar® EXO™ technology have proven themselves under the most demanding conditions. The 922-C’s reduced mass and enhanced durability not only improve vehicle dynamics but also provide teams with a measurable competitive and safety advantage.

The Don Burgoon Award, presented annually by Race Tech at the World Motorsport Symposium, celebrates breakthrough innovations that advance technology, safety and performance across global motorsport.

ATL has also released a short video showcasing the development of the 922-C material, highlighting its performance, safety and compatibility with sustainable fuels.
