Job Purpose

As a Final Assembly Technician, you will be expected to manufacture sub-assemblies, install cells into container and complete wiring and plumbing. You will need to maintain your schedule and self-check your work for non-conformances.

Main Duties

  • Aid the Final Assembly & Moulding Manager in general engineering duties.
  • Assembling Fuel cells to high quality within set timeframes.
  • Using hand tools such as: drill, leister/heat gun, soldering iron, torque wrench, basic tools.
  • Manufacture wiring looms to drawings.
  • Manufacture hoses to CAD files and Pictures.
  • Capable of assembling hardware such as Top plates, Pumps etc.
  • Gain further experience to complete more challenging Fuel Cells and Support Equipment under pressure without dropping standards and quality.
  • Report any issues with BOM’s and Routes to Final Assembly & Moulding Manager who will manage any changes through engineering.
  • Manufacture all types of assemblies to the required quality whilst maintaining schedule.
  • Liaise with the Final Assembly & Moulding Manager to gain on-the-job training in all assembly processes to continually improve skills and efficiency.
  • Capable of producing an effective prototype assembly, including any possible design flaws or changes needed from the Composer/model, producing clear and accurate build notes and aiding in setting the base time for accurate scheduling.
  • Regularly self-check work to ensure a high-quality assembly with no non-conformances.
  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.

You may be required to complete other tasks, as required by the business.

Requirements

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Awareness of ERP systems
  • Awareness of PLM systems

  • Salary: circa £14.92 per hour - dependant on experience
