Job Purpose:

  • The effective management of the Final Assembly department and its interactions with other areas within ATL
  • Ensuring the quality of the work of all technicians within the team meets the required standard
  • Providing training and support for all team members
  • Taking responsibility for the documentation of all prototype jobs and up-issues as they are built
  • Working with the planning team to maintain and review production plans ensuring the most effective allocation of human resource and equipment
  • Manage the non-conformance process within the department
  • Represent Final Assembly at production meetings, ensure the department schedule is on track and any questions regarding new or existing orders are raised and answered and risks or issues escalated

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for distributing work to Technicians, supervise and monitor staff to ensure they are working to procedure at all times and aid them to operate in the most efficient way
  • Guide prototype manufacture ensuring release feedback and any work instruction updates are completed, manufacturing routes and BoM’s are accurate, and that all manufacturing feedback is communicated using the correct process
  • Ensure all products have been checked before being processed to QC, ensuring all items in the BoM have been issued and all operations completed
  • Liaise with relevant parties to highlight any servicing and calibration requirements within the department are met
  • Liaise with the Planning Team to keep the schedule review and optimise production schedules
  • Aid in the development of department processes and procedures
  • Liaise with the Design Office in any R&D tasks as required
  • Responsible for the continual training of all department staff and to maintain the Final Assembly Technician training log;
  • Liaise with the Suppliers to ensure any departmental tooling needs are met
  • Ensure all Technicians work safely and in accordance with the company Health & Safety policy
  • Assisting with conducting appraisals for Final Assembly staff

Job Requirements

  • English spoken and written, fluently (Required)
  • Three years of relevant professional experience (Required)
  • Personnel Management (Required)
  • Knowledge of FactoryMaster (Required)
  • Experience of Microsoft Project (Required)
  • Knowledge of SmarTeam (Required)
  • Awareness of relevant FIA regulations & standards (Required)
  • Experience of ISO9001 QMS (Required)
  • Experience of hydraulic hose assembly (Preferred)
  • Experience of automotive or aerospace wiring systems (Preferred)
