The Job

You will be able to work efficiently within the Engineering Workshop department producing high quality and complex components within set timeframes. You'll be responsible for adherence to correct procedures and practices as well as liaising with the Manager to ensure that all work instructions for projects are recorded and kept up to date.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacture of a variety of fabricated and welded components from technical drawings and specifications
  • Manufacture components using various welding techniques and machinery, such as Roll Forming, Band Saws, Fly Press and Guillotine
  • Ensuring any prototype products have their processes and settings documented to enable repeats
  • Work independently, or in a team, to mark out and setup products going through
  • Once trained, carry out buddy checks for repeat products for other Fabricators/Welders
  • Provide regular feedback to the Engineering Workshop Senior Manager and Design team to improve product range and build methods
  • Work with the Engineering Workshop Senior Manager and Quality team to ensure that all products are finished to the highest quality
  • Responsible for assembly tasks of products
  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can use a variety of tools and equipment
  • Has basic maths skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Can read technical drawings and recognise specifications
  • Ability to write instructions
  • Has knowledge of industry safety practices
  • Responsible for adherence to correct procedures and practices
  • Aluminium TIG welding experience
  • Fabrication experience
  • MIG welding experience is desirable but not essential

The Package

  • Salary: £14 - £17 per hour depending on experience
  • 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with service
